I had a professor whose first lecture dealt with faith. He talked about “distinction between fact and opinion,” and the conflict between faith and reason.

He inferred that “intellectuals” depended upon reason, while others depend upon faith. What he apparently failed to realize is that everyone has unproven faith.

Even those who have no faith in God actually have faith in No God! We simply aren’t granted the option of choosing to live with or without faith. And without faith it is impossible to please God.
